Democratic Legislative Intern
General Description
State Representative Mike Huckleberry (D-Greenville) is seeking a responsible and professional individual to serve as an intern in his Lansing office.  Prospective interns should exhibit an interest in government as well as the ability to work independently.  Previous work experience in an office environment and political/governmental experience is a plus, but not required.  Duties center largely on exceptional writing and communication skills and include, but are not limited to: answering telephone calls, responding to constituent letters and email messages, basic office duties and assisting legislative aides with constituent issues and legislative research.   
 
Salary Range
This is an unpaid position.  School credit can be arranged where desired.   
 
Minimum Qualifications

Previous office experience, letter writing skills and knowledge of the Legislature and the legislative process is a plus but not required. Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is required.  Excellent telephone, written communication skills and a positive attitude preferred.
