Anonymous Information

Unless you are subscribing to the Committee Notices service or the House TV Broadcast Channel Notices, www.house.mi.gov only collects the following information:

• The domain name and browser (Netscape, Internet Explorer, AOL, etc.) used to access the Internet.
• The date and time a browser accesses the web site.
• The pages opened by a browser.
• The address of the web site visited immediately prior to visiting www.house.mi.gov

We collect this information for statistical purposes to measure usage, system performance and to identify problem areas.

Personally Identifiable Information

The only personally identifiable information collected online is that which is directly provided by the user when subscribing to Committee Notices or the House TV Broadcast Channel Notices. During this process, the user submits their e-mail address, enabling them to receive e-mail notifications. These e-mail addresses are retained solely for the purpose of sending e-mail notifications for committee meetings and House TV Broadcast Updates. Subscriber information is not distributed or shared with anyone other than House Committee Clerks and House Information Systems staff.

If a user unsubscribes from a U.S. Mail list, they need to provide their name, company name and postal address. This information is forwarded to House Committee Clerks via e-mail and is not retained on our web site.

Correspondence

If you contact the Michigan House of Representatives by e-mail, we will keep a record of that correspondence while we respond to your question or to fulfill the stated purpose of the communication. However, we do not collect the e-mail addresses of users who communicate with our web site administrators via e-mail.

Disclosure of Personally Identifiable Information

We do not disclose, sell or transfer any personally identifiable information to third parties unless we need to share information to provide the service or information you have requested, or we are directed to do so by law (.e.g., to respond to subpoenas, court orders or legal process).

Use of Cookies

www.house.mi.gov does not use or install tracking cookies.

Virus Protection

www.house.mi.gov uses standard virus-scanning software to protect its web services from being affected by viruses or virus-like behavior.
