Description: The Michigan House of Representatives Assistant Sergeant -At-Arms serves as an agent of the Chief Sergeant- At- Arms under the Clerk of the House. Employees in this department are MCOLES certified Police Officers and provide a variety of security and service-related functions to safeguard Representatives, staff, citizens and property in the Michigan House of Representatives. The Assistant Sergeant -At-Arms maintains security, order and decorum during sessions of the Michigan House of Representatives.

Salary Range: Starting Salary $40,128

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must be a MCOLES certified Police Officer. A minimum of five years law enforcement experience. An Associates degree is required. Certification in CPR and First Aid preferred. Basic computer skills preferred.  Candidates with combined experience and education may also be considered.
