Description: This is a full-time position in the Lansing office of State Representative Mari Manoogian. The Legislative Aide position requires the individual to perform administrative, reception, and constituent duties, coordinate the Representative’s schedule, write and track correspondence, and manage the office.  Other responsibilities include addressing constituent casework, helping plan district coffee hours, town hall meetings, and other events, monitoring major district happenings, writing social media posts, researching policy issues, working on legislative initiatives, staffing meetings, and handling special projects.  Some travel to the district will be required, including attending in-district community events and meetings.

Salary Range: $34,000 - $36,000

Minimum Qualifications: The applicant must be professional, resourceful, and possess strong administrative, organizational, and clerical skills.  In addition, they must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and able to deliver strong customer relation outcomes. Requirements include proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn other software applications as needed. Applicant must also be self-motivated, detail oriented, capable of assuming responsibility without direct supervision, and able to prioritize multiple tasks in a face-paced environment. Bachelor’s Degree preferred though not required.
