Description: This is a full-time, paid position at the Michigan House of Representatives Republican Policy Communications Office. Responsibilities include assisting with all facets of media relations and external communications for Republican state representatives. Candidate will provide media counsel and implement communications plans. Additional responsibilities include writing policy-oriented press releases, columns and other content, as well as effectively planning news conferences, responding to media inquiries and identifying news opportunities.
Salary Range: $45,000 - $55,000
Minimum Qualifications: Must possess excellent writing skills. Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations or related field is required. Newspaper or online media experience strongly preferred. Experience in AP-style writing and knowledge of the legislative process is a plus.
